Supplier Technical Assistance Engineer

We’re seeking an experienced Supplier Development Engineer/STA Engineer to join our dynamic Supply Chain Development team. This is a key role, ensuring our external supply chain consistently delivers high-quality components to support a fast-paced, performance-driven engineering environment.
You will play a pivotal part in strengthening supplier relationships, promoting best-practice quality assurance, and driving continuous improvement across a diverse and innovative supplier network.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct supplier audits, monitor performance, and drive effective improvement plans.

Develop and maintain robust quality documentation for externally manufactured components.

Ensure supplier compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Build strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers through proactive technical engagement and clear communication.

Travel regularly to supplier sites to assess capabilities, build trust, and support improvement initiatives.

Collaborate closely with internal teams including Inspection, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Design to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality parts.

Manage and resolve supplier non-conformance reports (NCRs) efficiently and professionally.

Lead or support supplier meetings and project milestone reviews.

Represent the organisation professionally when engaging with current and prospective suppliers.

Stay current with industry trends, continuously developing your skills and expertise.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Proven experience within motorsport, aerospace, or other high-precision engineering sectors.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for composite and metallic components (experience with electronics advantageous).

Excellent understanding of quality assurance methodologies and standards.

Skilled in auditing—ideally holding an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification or equivalent.

High attention to detail, capable of maintaining quality standards under pressure.

Confident interpreting complex engineering drawings and resolving technical challenges.

Experience with MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or similar.

Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

Self-motivated, calm under pressure, with strong organisational and decision-making abilities.

Excellent communicator with a collaborative, professional, and respectful approach.
