Buyer – Composites
High-Performance Engineering 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer/Procurement Specialist – Composites to join our fast-paced, high-performance engineering organisation. In this pivotal role, you’ll manage the end-to-end procurement of complex composite components, including carbon fibre structures, bonded assemblies, and raw materials, while supporting related categories such as metallics and electronics.

You’ll play a key part in maintaining a robust and responsive supply chain that underpins our engineering excellence and competitive performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle for complex composite components and assemblies, from sourcing to delivery.

  • Ensure supply chain data is accurate and up to date within the ERP system to consistently meet departmental KPI targets.

  • Support supplier onboarding, development, and performance management in collaboration with the Supplier Quality team.

  • Procure components with a clear focus on quality, cost, and lead time, while proactively mitigating supply risks.

  • Ensure suppliers meet all technical and quality specifications defined by design and engineering teams.

  • Build and maintain strong, transparent relationships with suppliers through proactive engagement and communication.

  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration across all procurement activities.


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Proven experience in sourcing and procuring carbon fibre and composite components within high-performance sectors such as motorsport, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing.

  • In-depth understanding of composite material specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.

  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, and component assemblies.

  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. IFS, SAP, or similar).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

  • Results-driven mindset with strong decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proven success in managing supplier relationships and resolving complex procurement challenges.

  • Collaborative team player with a passion for excellence and continuous improvement.
