Overview
XQ Technical are supporting a high-performance engineering organisation within the motorsport sector that is seeking an experienced Composite Design Engineer to support a busy and technically demanding programme.
This is an initial three-month contract assignment, focused on supporting the design and development of complex composite components within a fast-paced engineering environment. The successful candidate will be working on highly detailed structural and performance-critical parts, requiring strong CAD capability and a solid understanding of composite design methodologies.
The position would suit someone comfortable operating within a rapid development cycle, where designs move quickly from concept through to manufacture.
Key Responsibilities

Design and develop complex composite components using Siemens NX

Work closely with stress, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and structurally robust

Produce detailed 3D models and 2D drawings to a high engineering standard

Support ongoing design updates, iterations, and problem-solving throughout the programme lifecycle

Ensure components meet performance, weight, and manufacturing requirements
Key Requirements

Proven experience as a Composite Design Engineer within motorsport or high-performance engineering

Strong capability using Siemens NX

Experience designing complex composite structures and components

Good understanding of composite materials, laminate strategies, and manufacturing processes

Ability to work quickly and accurately within a fast-paced development environment

Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams
